Medium Douce, the burgeoning electronic-percussive act out of Paris, have released their debut EP ATTACCA, on July 19th, via Uppwind Records, the exciting label founded by prolific French producer Uppermost. The outfit is made up of Maxime Buffel (synths, DAW), Manon Duchemann (Marimba), Justine Feuillette (Vibraphone) and Johann Feuerstoss (Drums). The band met at the Conservatory of Versailles where they received formal training in jazz and classical music studies before establishing Medium Douce in 2016.

ATTACCA is brimming with energy, exhibiting superb musicality and creative synthesis. The release navigates through a range of musical styles from techno and house, to minimal and post-rock. Ethereal synth tones and a fluid mix of organic, orchestral and electronic percussion contribute to a listening experience that is both deep, immersive and meditative, as well as infectiously danceable.

Medium Douce had the following to share regarding the conception and creation of their ATTACCA EP: “Part of a basic idea of a loop of two chords, ATTACCA is the result of several collective improvisations and research sessions, where the ideas of each musician come together and agree to create a common sound. This minimalist-influenced music mixes acoustic percussion instruments and repetitive grooves of electronic music. The title is another inspiration from classical music, referring to the initial training of musicians.”
