Eclectic Irish quintet Shookrah blend pop, RnB, rock and soul into their latest enticing SONG 'Flex'

As far as live performances go, Shookrah have had the delight of headlining shows at Quarter Block Party, Wigwam and K-Fest as well as supporting and playing alongside legendary musicians Billy Ocean and Theo Katzman (Vulfpeck) on their Irish tours. Although the collective of Shookrah all currently reside in Cork, Ireland, the quintet originate from a variety of different cities and countries, including Kerry, Dublin and even South Africa.
Shookrah's latest single was recorded with Brendan Fennessy (O Emperor), mixed by Michael Heffernan, produced by Emmet O’Riabhaigh and Diarmait Mac Cárthaigh of Shookrah, and mastered by the prolific April Golden. "Flex" is undoubtedly an electric mix of many blended characteristics, genres and of course, emotions. The intro is reminiscent of soul and RnB before erupting into a powerful pop-rock induced section and then gracefully transforms into funk-esque textures with a robust and distinct bass tone. This immersive atmosphere is enough to catapult them up into the stars, with vocalist Senita Appiakorang's repeated phrase "I don't wanna taking to you", may conjures up an irresistible need to nod your head and hit repeat, over, and over, and..
