By Alex Brown - 29.11.17

Up and coming new Tokyo-based band DYGL (pronounced day-glo) have released two punchy new tracks, ‘Let It Sway’ and B-side 'Let It Out'  via the label Hard Enough. The tracks were produced by The Strokes’ guitarist Albert Hammond Jr and The Strokes’ producer Gus Oberg.

Band members  Nobuki Akiyama (vocal & guitar), Kohei Kamoto (drums), Yotaro Kachi (bass), and Yosuke Shimonaka (guitar) first formed DYGL back in 2012 when they were students in Meiji Gakuin University. It was back in 2015 when they self released their first EP, EP #1, followed by Don’t Know Where It Is in 2016 and later that year created 2 new songs, releasing a 7-inch record Waste of Time - mastered by Aaron Dobos (Avalanches).

Having toured Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, and China. They have done 34 concerts in 32 cities.

With influences such as The Strokes, The Cribs, The Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, and The Smiths, DYGL has an upbeat sound and imaginative lyrics that makes it impossible not to dance along to.
