Prangman’s New EP Is Out Via Migration Recordings

By Alex Brown - 23.2.17

Migration Recordings, a sub-label of NexGen Music, has released Prangman’s four track EP, Chamber.

Hailing originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, Dan Meldrum, aka Prangman, spent his early years assisting as a DJ at his father’s pub. Moving on to his own material at the age of 13, he produced hard house, trance, house, progressive house, tech house, breakbeat and Drum and Bass. While studying Music Technology at Leicester's DMU, he met producers and artists and was influenced by the new genre of dubstep in 2005 and helped organize weekly party "Hubstep", which ran until 2011.

At this time, both the Prangman alias and the monthly "Sous-Sol Projet" event series were born and continue running today. His first major studio collaboration was with Lyndsey Murray on ‘Far Away’ in in 2011.

His influences include UK Garage artists Flava D, EL-B, Killjoy and Mooney and drum and bass producers Calibre, Break, Calyx, Tee-Bee, Black Sun Empire and Noisia & Phace.

Chamber is an interesting, diverse EP that is sure to appeal to garage and future bass fans.
